Monteverde

We plan on spending some time in Monteverde and Santa Elena. We will visit the preserve and take a zip line tour of the tree canopy.

I want to spend some time visiting sustainably harvested coffee farms and the Monteverde cheese coop. What are other things to do in this area? Any recommendations on places to stay? We want to stay in hostels not in hotels.

Monteverde is great in the "dry" season. You can stay at Tina's Casitas in Santa Elena if you want to stay cheap. There are a few really nice hotels in the area.

Are you going to Arenal? Stay at Gringo Pete's! You will not regret it.
